Maryland Oncology’s Columbia location is located in the Medical Pavilion directly across from Howard County General Hospital. MOH was founded in 1986 and was the first practice to provide medical oncology and hematology care to residents in the growing Howard County area of Maryland. MOH’s Howard County location has now grown to include 5 full time oncologists.

Virtual Support Groups

These programs are professional-led, free and will be virtual via Zoom during the Covid-19 pandemic.

*Please let us know if you’d like to join but don’t have the necessary technology. In partnership with Respite Retreats and their Connect to Care program, a new tablet is being offered for those who want to participate but don’t otherwise have access.

Caregiver Support Group:

Meets the 1st Tuesday of the month from 12-1pm

This group provides a safe space to connect and exchange support with others caring for a loved one with cancer. Facilitated by Amy Tissiere, LCSW-C, OSW-C.

Advanced Cancer Support Group:

Meets the 2nd Monday of the month from 3-4:15pm

This group provides an opportunity to share information, experiences and moral support with others facing the unique challenges associated with living with metastatic or advanced disease. Co-facilitated by Amy Tissiere, LCSW-C, OSW-C and Laurie Thorner, LCSW-C. All patients are welcome- including those outside of MOH.

Cancer at Midlife Support Group

4^th Tues from 7-8 PM.

This group is intended for persons experiencing cancer at midlife- roughly ages 40-60 where one may be balancing multiple responsibilities/priorities– cancer, career, parenting children, caregiving for aging parents.
