Non-Oncological Infusion
Multi-Specialty Infusion Therapy
Maryland Oncology Hematology is proud to offer multi-specialty infusion therapies for patients with chronic diseases and conditions. As a cancer treatment center, we are uniquely qualified to offer these services as many of the intravenous medications used to treat non-oncology specialties are similar to oncology therapies in their preparation, administration, and side effect profiles. Our experienced staff of physicians, nurses, and other clinicians are trained in managing complex infusions and addressing infusion-related side effects that may occur.
Why Choose Maryland Oncology Hematology for Infusion Therapy?
As oncology care experts, we understand the challenges of chronic diseases and are proud to be able to extend our expertise to treat patients with other conditions. We provide a local, community-based treatment option which can often prove more cost-effective and convenient for patients compared to a hospital setting. At Maryland Oncology Hematology we are able to streamline the infusion process by providing patients with high-quality, easily-accessible care in close coordination with their primary specialist.
In addition, our infusion centers offer a wide range of accommodations to help patients feel comfortable throughout their infusion treatment. Our approach to care focuses on delivering services that not only improve a patient’s quality of life, but do so a in a way that is safe, caring, and compassionate.
Coordination with Referring Physicians
Maryland Oncology Hematology works with a patient’s referring physician to facilitate seamless coordination of care. Our process includes obtaining all pertinent medical records and tests before treatment begins, confirming insurance coverage, and frequently reporting updates to the referring office throughout treatment. For any questions or needs beyond infusion therapy, we will always refer the patient back to their primary physician.
