Dr. Jason Taksey was born in Silver Spring, MD. He attended the University of Maryland, College Park, as part of the Honors program, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and graduated summa cum laude. He graduated from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine where he received his Doctor of Medicine Degree and received the Merck Academic Achievement Award. Dr. Taksey completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Temple University Hospital, and his Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at the Fox Chase Cancer Center.
Dr. Taksey began clinical practice in 2007 where he joined the Annapolis Oncology Center and proudly followed his team of colleagues to Maryland Oncology Hematology as part of the Annapolis division in 2020. From 2009 to 2014, he was concurrently on staff at Johns Hopkins Hospital where he developed expertise in Genitourinary (GU) malignancies (including prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers) under the leadership of one of the thought leaders in the field.
During his time in practice, Dr. Taksey has served as the primary investigator for multiple clinical trials with a focus on Genitourinary malignancies and served on the hospital cancer committee. He is a published author in a number of peer reviewed medical journals.
Dr. Taksey is a founding partner in the Annapolis division of Maryland Oncology Hematology. He has cared for patients with a broad range of hematologic and oncologic disorders in a state-of-the-art outpatient treatment facility. He regularly attends GU research program meetings for US Oncology and looks forward to bringing a large network of clinical trials to his patients. He maintains a practice philosophy of listening to all patient questions and concerns and taking as much time as is needed to create a personalized
treatment plan. He lives in Edgewater, MD with his wife and two children.
