Dr. Gaffar believes in effective communication and getting to know his patients as if they are part of his own family. He follows a patient-centered approach as a member of multi-disciplinary team. He has a strong interest in educating his patients and understanding their goals. Dr. Gaffar has expertise to assist and devotes time to his patients from the moment they walk in the door. He prides himself on his availability for them.
Dr Gaffar has practiced over 15 years in Baltimore area, first in a practice affiliated with US Oncology for over 5 years. He then practiced at the University of Maryland. St. Joseph Medical Center Cancer Institute for over 9 years. Additionally, he was Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of Maryland Medical School.
He strongly encourages clinical trial participation to continue advances in cancer care and to-date has enrolled patients as site investigator for dozens of clinical trials. Additionally, he has been honored as a Top Doctor in Baltimore Magazine several times.
Dr Gaffar is a strong proponent of physical fitness with CrossFit, somatic meditation, and competitive axe throwing. He is a loving father of five.
