Board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology, Dr. Sotos grew up in Northern Virginia but crossed the bridge and has been in practice in Montgomery County since 1994. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science from Dartmouth College and a Master’s degree in Physiology from Georgetown University, he attended medical school at the Medical College of Virginia. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center/Parkland Memorial Hospital, and his fellowship in medical oncology at the National Institutes of Health. In addition to his role as chair of the hematology and oncology subsection at Suburban Hospital since 2000, Dr. Sotos also served there on the medical executive committee for 8 years, and is currently the coordinator of the neuro/aerodigestive, gastrointestinal and genitourinary multidisciplinary tumor boards. Outside of work, Dr. Sotos enjoys spending time with his wife and children, traveling, writing, and trying to learn golf.
