We are proud to welcome Cynthia Plate, MD, FACS to our group. Dr. Plate is a highly skilled breast surgical oncologist at Maryland Oncology Hematology. She is board certified in general surgery, specializing in advanced surgical techniques that provide expert care to patients with a focus on women and breast health.
Dr. Plate attended Howard University College of Medicine where she received her medical degree. She completed her residency and internship in general surgery at Howard University Hospital. Passionate about medicine, Dr. Plate continues to stay current on the most progressive techniques available for patients.

Dr. Plate is fluent in English and Spanish, with a Peruvian background which makes her widely accessible to patients from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Her strong belief in a healthy physician-patient relationship helps to guide her in providing care that offers patients both assurance and respect. Dr. Plate understands the complexity of surgery and thoroughly discusses all suitable options with her patients.
