Biography
Dr. Regina Hampton is a board-certified breast surgeon with over 20 years of experience in breast surgical oncology, known for her dedication to patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and health equity. She has formerly served as Chief of Breast Surgery at Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center and is the Co-Founder and Medical Officer of Breast Care for Washington, a nonprofit focused on expanding access to breast health services in underserved communities.
Dr. Hampton earned her Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy Technology, cum laude, from Howard University, and her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the Medical College of Pennsylvania (now Drexel University College of Medicine). She completed her General Surgery residency at Howard University Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident, and conducted oncology research at Georgetown University’s Lombardi Cancer Center.
Throughout her career, Dr. Hampton has led the development of comprehensive breast care programs, integrated advanced surgical techniques—including oncoplastic and nipple-sparing procedures—and championed initiatives to improve care coordination and community outreach. She is a respected leader in the medical community, having served as President of the Medical Staff and Chair of the Breast Tumor Board at Doctors Community Medical Center.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Hampton is a healthcare entrepreneur and advocate. She co-founded Cherry Blossom Intimates, a boutique offering custom prosthetics and post-surgical garments, which has been featured on Good Morning America, PBS NewsHour, and in The Washington Post. Her contributions have earned her numerous honors, including Washingtonian Top Doctor and induction into Drexel University’s Hall of Fame. Dr. Hampton continues to advance breast cancer care through research, mentorship, and community engagement, with a mission to ensure every patient receives compassionate, high-quality care.
