Elaine earned a Master of Health Science in Health Communications from Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health and worked in national public health education prior to her nursing career. She then earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland and worked in cancer clinical trials at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health for nine years.

More recently, Elaine studied at Duke University where she earned a Master of Science in Nursing with two specialty concentrations in Oncology and Palliative Care. She is passionate about treating the whole patient as well as supporting the people who love them. She enjoys building relationships with patients and seeing them move beyond cancer to live their fullest lives.

When not caring for patients, Elaine most enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going for a hike or horseback ride, and traveling.
