Dr. Dong (Jake) Kim is an oncologist and hematologist at Maryland Oncology Hematology’s Silver Spring and Hyattsville locations. Dr. Kim received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he also completed a residency in internal medicine. He then went on to complete a fellowship in oncology and hematology at Fox Chase Cancer Center.

During his fellowship, he participated in the Pharmacy-Therapeutic Committee at Fox Chase Cancer Center and served as a MedNet Fellow, guiding questions on a new forum for the medical oncology community. Dr. Kim has published peer reviewed research in several publications including Leukemia & Lymphoma and was the recipient of the 2023 Conquer Cancer Merit Award for his research presented at ASCO Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium.

He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the Collaborative Group of the Americas on Inherited Gastrointestinal Cancer.

Dr. Kim grew up in Kansas and enjoys the outdoors. He is an Eagle Scout and enjoys hiking and camping with his wife.
